leaving philly

untrue to the title of our blog, we've spent the past couple weeks on a meticulously planned schedule, visiting all of michael's friends and family all over the west coast.  i've met an enormous amount of people since coming out here, which is why our blog is slow to come to life.  but i've taken about 1,500 pictures so far, so i figure i'll upload a few of them in the meantime, while we wait for the ill-conceived and probably overly ambitious segment of our trip to start --- and that's tomorrow.  so here's north america, for now.
