bolinas

upon arrival on the west coast, we immediately ate thai food and then crashed at michael's friend alexei's house in san francisco.  we spent the next few days about an hour up the coast, in a little town named bolinas.  residents of bolinas have apparently been removing any signage directing out-of-towners from the highway to bolinas for years, so it remains an offbeat and remote little stretch of coast.  these people would probably appreciate this caption on a photograph of a remote mountain town named karimabad pinned to a guesthouse community bulletin board in lahore pakistan: "karimabad - hard to get to, even harder to leave."  it reminds me a bit of that.  we also hung out with a seven-year-old, michael's half brother will.  therefore, we are exhausted and sandy.
